Fabric Review: Amy Butler's Midwest Modern - Fresh Poppies in Fuchsia

I absolutely heart Amy Butler fabrics!! GORGEOUS!!! It's so hard to choose a favourite because they are all too yummy! You can check out her lovely designs here. Let me share with you a print from Amy Butler's Midwest Modern collection - Fresh Poppies in Fuchsia. Midwest Modern's mix of organic prints make it a great choice for fashion, quilting, and home decor projects. She created this quilting and fashion weight fabric collection for ROWAN. This collection was inspired by the vintage modern spirit of her lifestyle book Midwest Modern. The fabric width is 44" and made of 100% cotton.

There are 3 main palettes:

  • Orange Dahlia (hues of oranges and pinks with a blend of earthy browns and greens)

  • Ohio Sky (blends of yellow, green, and blue tones)

  • Pink Dahlia (pinks with earthy tones of greens, oranges, browns, and grey)
Fresh Poppies in Fuchsia is an absolutely beautiful print from the Pink Dahlia palette. There are so many inspirational photos of this fabric in action. The fabric did NOT bleed during its first wash and the colours remained beautiful after hanging it out to dry. I loved working with this fabric and am definitely going to add more Amy Butler fabrics to my stash!

Midwest Modern was such a success that more prints and colours were added resulting in Midwest Modern 2! Now there are just too many prints to choose from! Yet it makes mixing and matching prints more fun. :)

Happy fabric shopping!
